C7 Flashcards
Behavioral bliss point
Preferred distribution of activities prior to instrumental conditioning
Consummatory-response theory
A theory that assumes special-type responses [eating, drinking] are the critical features of reinforcers
Differential probability principle [AKA Premack principle]
A principle that assumes reinforcement depends on how much the individual performs the reinforcer response compared to the instrumental response prior to conditioning
Greater difference = greater reinforcement during conditioning
Minimum deviation model
Model of instrumental behavior in which people respond as close as possible to their bliss point
Response-deprivation hypothesis
Restricting responding to below its baseline rate of occurrence is sufficient to make it an effective reinforcer
