What is an element?
A pure substance containing only one type of atom.
What are the the three basic parts of an atom?
Proton,Neutron,Electron
Define compound
A substance that contains Two or more elements chemically bonded together.
Mixture
A mixture contains different substances that are not chemically joined to each other.
What is a chemical formula?
A chemical formula is a notation used by scientists to show the number and type of atoms present in a molecule, using the atomic symbols and numerical subscripts.
What are the seven diatomic elements?
hydrogen (H), nitrogen (N), oxygen (O), fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), and iodine (I).
Why are some elements called diatomic elements?
Because they exist in pairs
