There are different types of computer systems available. Each having their own advantages and drawbacks.
What is a desktop?
And what does it do?
A computer suitable for use at a desk.
It allows the user to carry out a range of activities.
What is a tablet/laptop?
A portable type of computer.
What is a smartphone?
A portable device that can be used to run a range of applications including email, social media, and more.
What is an embedded system?
It is a small computer system embedded within a larger device. EG: washing machines
What is mainframe?
What can they be used for?
Huge powerful computers that are used to process large amount of data.
They can be used to solve difficult problems.
What is quantum?
They are computers that are still being developed and they work within quantum bits. This could potentially be millions of times faster than all available computers.
