Training that occurs at the employees place of work, it is learning by doing the job. Usually supervised by a more experienced employee or trainer.

A

1) The training will be directly relevant to the their job role and the employees can progress to managers through the MIT programme.

2) The trainees can become productive a lot quicker compared to off the job. They are learning in their place of work, which can be motivating.

what is the recruitment process? (include this in the 8 mark answer)

A

The recruitment process usually involves, identifying the need for a job, defining
the requirements for the position, advertising the position and choosing the
most appropriate person for the job. It can be either internal or external. Most recruitment processes will involve: job analysis, job description, job advert, shortlisting, interview.

Evaluate the importance of an effective recruitment and selection process to businesses such as A&F (8) (PE+HB x2)

A

(+) Save money by having higher staff retention -> It can help to ensure that the right staff, that are suited to the job, are being hired. Prevents the wrong staff being hired then quitting.
(H depends on) how time consuming it is -> prevent the ideal people applying or cost too much
(+) Money can be saved on training costs -> less training needed for suitable experienced staff
(H) an effective recruitment process doesn’t always mean most suitable staff. e.g. their experience may not align with the requirements for the role/store
