Admission criteria for adults
Burns to face palm perineum , >15% in adult, >10% in kids, electrical burns, acid burn
Is it safe to give blood plasma in first 36 hours
No capillaries still leaky which can lead to third spacing so continue to give crystalloids aka LR
S/E of silver sulphadiazine
Neutropenia and thrombocytopenia
Complications of burns?
Two days later may develop pheripheral cyanosis pow oxygen sat and distressed due to ARDS from respi injury
Can have sepsis which leads to ARDS
Circumferential Eschar can lead to compartment syndrome (to confirm circumferential eschar must do xray to rule out ards )
If patient develops sob and 80% sat may be due to scarring of chest
Tetanus
Burn wound infection
ATN
pneumonia
