A

mainly unknown

Systemic: DM, collagen vascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, hypothyroidism,

congenital: trigger thumb due to nodule on flexer pollicis longus tendon

tx of trigger finger

A

conservative, medical, surgical

conservative rest finger prevent overuse, splinting

medical: nsaids to relieve inflamm and swelling, steroids ie corticosteroid injection may reduce inflammation
surgery: percutaneous release(tearing the sheath with wide bore needle) done under LA blindly with knowledge of anatomy

post sx: move finger to prevent tissue adhesions plus nsaid
