When there isn’t enough oxygen and the carbon dioxide and water is still produced but carbon monoxide and carbon is also made.

carbon monoxide which can stick to red blood cells and so you don’t get enough oxygen and can kill you. carbon monoxide is a odourless, colourless gas.

soot, this can cause breathing problems and stain building black it is also very messy.

When theres plenty of oxygen around and hydrocarbons burn to produce only carbon dioxide and water.
