What are general characteristics of pure metals?
A
have distinct layers and slide over each other easily, this makes them weaker. The atoms in the alloy are all the same size and metal.

A
The atoms are all different sizes so the layers are mixed up and can’t slip over each other, this makes them stronger. Also the atoms are not all the same metal they are mixtures.
