Bullying is aggressive
behaviour in which someone
intentionally and repeatedly causes another
person injury or discomfort.
Bullying
The person being bullied usually has a
hard time defending himself/herself and
may not have done anything to cause it.
Persons targeted may
includes the following:
Those who seem shy or shy or
lack confidence.
Persons who are not well-liked by their peers.
Those who seem to be physically weak.
Persons from different cultures.
There are four described forms of bullying.
Physical
Verbal
Social
Cyber
Physical Bullying
This is the use of physical actions to
intimidate and gain control over
a target.
Physical Bullying
Physical bullies are usually bigger,
stronger and more aggressive than
their target.
Examples of Physical Bullying
Examples of physical bullying include:
Kicking
Hitting
Punching
Slapping
Shoving
Verbal Bullying
This is when an individual uses verbal
language such as insults,
teasing, name-calling, etc. to gain power
over his/her peers.
Verbal Bullying
They choose their targets based on the
way they look, act or behave. They may
also target persons with special
needs.
Cyber Bullying
This occurs when someone uses
social media or other forms of
technology to harass, threaten
or embarrass an individual.
Cyber Bullying
It can include sharing personal or private
information about someone causing
embarrassment or humiliation.
Some cyberbullying crosses the line into
unlawful or criminal behavior.

Effects of Bullying
Children who are bullied are more likely
to:
Feel disconnected and not like school.
Underperform academically
because of their inability to focus.
Solutions to
Bullying
Encourage individuals to work with each other to
reduce negative impressions.
