Q
What were the successes of this dispute?
A
- Bulgaria appealed to the league when it was invaded, it was therefore following the league’s processes.
- It was not responding in an aggressive manner, it was using the LoN as a deciding body - to try and keep the peace.
- The league appealed to both countries to stop fighting and they both obeyed. (cooperation and reducing aggression)
- The league sent a commission to investigate the incident.
- The Commission found in favour of Bulgaria so the Greeks were ordered to leave Bulgaria and were forced to pay compensation.
- The Greeks obeyed.

Q
What were the failures of the dispute?
A
- Bulgaria incident raised questions about the league’s fairness because Greece argued that smaller countries (eg. Greece) were not being treated fairly relative to larger countries such as Italy - larger countries they argued seemed to be getting away with more aggression.
