What did you find during your initial investigation?

Answer 1

1no board tucked away around toilet pan.
Took back small section of vinyl flooring around the toilet pan.
1 small affected board containing flight holes.
No fresh frass in the area
Timber was damaged, easily penetrated with sharp screwdriver
No evidence of live infestation damaged beetles

Can you explain your advice to the client?

Answer 2

Advised client to re-inspect at a later date to establish whether the infestation was live and affecting any other areas of the floor.

Recovered floor as small area, not in a well used section of the floor

What repairs did you eventually recommend to the client?

Answer 3

Remove affected floor boards and replace. Recover floor covering.
