What is broad complex tachycardia?

A

ECG shows rate of >100 and QRS >120 ms. If there are no clear QRS complexes, it is VF or asystole.

Give examples of arrythmias that cause broad complex tachycardias

A
  • Ventricular fibrillation
  • Ventricular tachycardia
  • Torsade de pointes (polymorphic VT)
  • Any causes of narrow complex tachycardias when combined with bundle branch block or metabolic causes of broad QRS
  • Antidromic AVRT
