Overcrowding

A

-families lived in small rooms
-houses built very close together (back to back housing) to fit as many people as possible
- by making people live in small rooms , factory owners benefitted, getting a profit as it was cheaper to make houses this way
-more people moved to cities for work (overcrowding)

A

-sewage was often contaminated

-lots of flooding
-had to walk through sewage to get in and out
- no bin collectors
