IF WE HAVE A MALFUNCTION ON AN OPERATING ENGINE REQUIRING AN IMMEDIATE SHUTDOWN, WE WILL COMPLETE THE EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN CHECKLIST FOR THE APPLICABLE ENGINE THROUGH ALTERNATE HRD. AFTER WHICH WE WILL RESTART 1 OR 4 BEGINNING WITH PCO. IF WE HAVE A DEFERRED EMERGENCY AND ELECT TO RESTART 1 OR 4, I WILL TELL YOU (FE) TO PCO AND GO ON 1 OR 4. ONCE YOU CALL NORMAL RESTART, WE WILL TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION ON THE MALFUNCTION

A

CREW THIS WILL BE A NO FLAP FULL STOP LANDING. THE MIN AIRSPEED ON FINAL IS 135 KNOTS (OR 1.2Vs WHICHEVER IS GREATER). COPILOT, CALL BELOW 135 AFTER THE NOSE WHEEL IS ON DECK. I WILL NOT BRING THE POWER LEVERS OVER THE RAMP UNTIL YOU CALL ME BELOW 135. FE, PULL THE RUDDER BOOST SHUTOFF VALVE CIRCUIT BREAKER (K13)

SIMULATED 3 ENGINE

A

CREW THIS WILL BE A SIMULATED 3 ENGINE FULL STOP LANDING WITH ENGINE NO. 1 OR 4 SIMULATED FEATHERED. COPILOT, ADVISE TOWER THIS WILL BE A FULL STOP LANDING. WHEN THE NOSE WHEEL IS SAFELY ON DECK, I WILL BRING ALL 4 POWER LEVERS UP AND OVER THE RAMP. ON YOUR COMMAND I WILL RELEASE THE FEATHERED ENGINE AND REVERSE WITH THE REMAINING THREE. I WILL MAINTAIN CENTERLINE WITH RUDDER AND ASYMMETRIC POWER AND COUNTER SWERVE WITH YOKE FULL FORWARD AND AILERON INTO DEAD ENGINE. ON MY COMMAND, HOLD IN MY INPUTS. IF WE HAVE TO WAVEOFF, SET 3500 SHP ON MY COMMAND. ANY QUESTIONS?

TOUCH AND GO

ONCE THE NOSE WHEEL IS SAFELY ON DECK, RESET FLAPS AND TRIM, CALL GO WHEN READY. SET 3500 ON MY COMMAND AND CALL ROTATE AT 115. IF WE HAVE TO WAVEOFF, WE WILL SET 3500.

COPILOT, GET AN ICS CHECK WITH THE AFT OBSERVER PRIOR TO STARTING EACH ENGINE. ENSURE WE HAVE PERMISSION FROM GROUND TO START. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY REQUIRING ASSISTANCE, CALL GROUND USING OUR SIDE NUMBER AND PARKING SPOT. DURING STARTS FOR 1 AND 2, I WILL CALL ROTATION AND MONITOR THE LINEMAN, YOU BACK UP THE FE. ON STARTS 3 AND 4, WE WILL SWAP DUTIES AND WE WILL BOTH TIME THE STARTS. FE, START ENGINES ON MY COMMAND AND ACT ON ALL MALFUNCTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATOPS. ANY QUESTIONS?

TAKEOFF

A

FE, SET 945 TIT ON MY COMMAND. CP, CALL OUT 80 KNOTS FOR AN AIRSPEED AND POWER CHECK. WE ARE LOOKING FOR 3500, WE WILL ABORT WITH ANYTHING LESS THAN 3325. CALL REFUSAL AT 100 AND ROTATE AT 115. IF WE HAVE A MALFUNCTION BEFORE REFUSAL, I WILL ABORT THE TAKEOFF. IF WE HAVE A PROP MALFUNCTION BEFORE REFUSAL, I WILL INITIATE THE ABORT, CALL FOR THE E HANDLE, AND BRING THE POWER LEVERS TOWARDS FLIGHT IDLE. IF WE HAVE A MALFUNCTION AFTER REFUSAL, I WILL TAKE THE PLANE FLYING, AND ONCE SAFELY AIRBOURNE, WE WILL HANDLE THE MALFUNCTION AS A CREW.

TWO ENGINE LANDING

A

CREW, THIS WILL BE A SIMULATED TWO ENGINE FULL STOP LANDING, WITH NO. X AND X ENGINES SIMULATED FEATHERED. COPILOT, ADVISE TOWER WE ARE MAKING A FULL STOP LANDING. FE, PULL K13. MINIMUM AIRSPEED UNTIL LANDING IS ASSURED WILL BE 145KIAS. ONCE THE NOSE WHEEL IS ON DECK, I’LL BRING ALL FOUR POWER LEVERS OVER THE RAMP. ON YOUR COMMAND, I WILL RELEASE NO. X AND X AND REVERSE WITH THE OTHER TWO. I WILL EXPECT A SWERVE TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. I’LL MAINTAIN CENTERLINE USING RUDDER AND ASYMMETRIC THRUST. CP, ON MY COMMAND, HOLD FORWARD YOKE PRESSURE AND FULL AILERON TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. IF WE HAVE TO WAVEOFF, WE WILL USE MAX POWER ON ALL FOUR ENGINES IAW NATOPS. ANY QUESTIONS?
