occur in the communication process from time to time. A breakdown in communication occurs when the message or the feedback is not sent or received properly—at least in the way that the sender intends—or is not received by the concerned party altogether.
Breakdowns
is defined as a failure to exchange information, resulting in a lack of communication.
Communication Breakdown
is the technical term used to refer to all the possible barriers to effective communication.
Noise
comes from the environment (e.g., extraneous noises; such as the barking of the dogs, construction activity and etc.)
Physical Noise
originates from the emotional stat, mental state and psychological makeup of a person (e.g., depression, anger, suspicions, and etc.)
Psychological Noise
are bodily conditions that compromise the ability of a person to send or receive messages (e.g., hunger, stomach ache, and etc.)
Physiological Noise
refers to anything related to the meaning of words that distorts or masks a message and confuses the listener (e.g., speaker’s use of foreign language, a listener’s limited vocabulary, and etc.)
Semantic Noise
This encompass the use of language, the words chosen (Verbal Dimension) and the facial expressions, and the gestures and bodily movement used (Nonverbal Dimension).
Verbal and Nonverbal Dimensions
must be used together to clearly impart the message.
Verbal and Nonverbal Dimensions
imparts the Message following the Principles of Delivery.
Oral Dimension
takes care of putting down the words
Written Dimension
These speak of the factors that may or may not highlight traditional and conventional communication.
Formal/Informal Dimensions
These rely on the fact that Messages always have a Purpose. There is an intention when people communicate with others.
