branding is the act of associating a product with an image, name, logo, symbol or even song.
-a brand is identified by its image, name, logo, symbol, or even song which distinguishes a product or service from its competitors

- bands are easily recognised so more customers may buy due to familiarity
- brand loyalty can develop as customers will make repeat purchases
- it could also make it much easier to launch new products/services - easy to widen product portfolio
