Branchial Arch Formation Flashcards
What do the branchial arches (apparatus) consist of?
- arches (apparatus)
- grooves
- membranes
- pouches (pharyngeal)
What gives us the branchial arches?
growth of cells
what gives us the branchial grooves?
depressions b/w the arches
the branchial arches and branchial grooves are where to the primitive mouth (stomodeum)?
INFERIOR/BELOW the stomodeum
each arch has mesenchyme from what cell layers?
from neural crest cells, BUT, a little of ectoderm cells, and endoderm cells.
The MAJORITY will be mesenchyme.
BUT ALL the ARCHES will have ectoderm and endoderm
the branchial arches are covered externally by what cell layer?
ectoderm
the branchial arches are lined internally by what cell layer?
endoderm
the branchial arches surround and support what?
the primitive pharynx
each of these arches will have distinct?
anatomical ending
the arch will be the beginning part, then it will turn into?
something specific
