Brain injury is identified as injury resulted from a mechanical force.

Is a concussion and a contusion the same thing?
A
No.
A concussion is a result of blunt force to the head. This results in amnesia, confusion, and memory loss.
A contusion is bruising or tearing of cerebral tissue, such as with shaken baby syndrome. A contusion can results in neurological impairments, seizures, retinal hemorrhages, intracranial/subarachnoid/subdural hemorrhages.
