How does increased ICP present in infants?
A
-bulging fontanels
-irritability
-high-pitched cry
-sunset eyes (sunset eyes is when 3/4ths of baby’s eyes are white space and the baby’s actual pupil sits right above their lower eyelid, the pupil acting as the sun in sunset)

How does increased ICP present in older children?
A
EARLY SIGNS OF increased ICP in OLDER KIDS is SUBTLE!
-headache
-vomiting
-personality changes
-irritability
-fatigue
-double vision or blurred vision
Vital signs are a LATE sign on increased ICP on with an older child. If increased ICP, child will experience increased bp, decreased RR, and decreased HR
