SGA
Side effects: Increased BG and QT prolongation.
Sedation, weight gain, diabetes
Least likely for movement disorders

A

For severe mania in combination with an SGA, as an alternative to Lithium with an SGA
BB: Hepatotoxicity and pancreatitis

Lithium

A

Mood stabilizer.
First line in BPD.
Toxicity: Renal dysfunction, prolonged QTc, weakness, muscle twitching, confusion
Does NOT affect liver

A

SGA
Most likely for elevated serum prolactin levels (=nipple discharge)
Side effects: weight gain, glucose abnormalities, and orthostatic hypotension

Low chance QTc prolongation, or weight gain.
Watch for irritability.
