A
Psychiatrist - treated emotionally disturbed children

why does an attachment form?
A
- important for an infant to survive

A
- infants have around 0-3 years to form an attachment and to develop normally.

social behaviour or feature that elicits caregiver behaviour e.g. baby smiling

It isn’t impossible for a child to recover after a failure of attachment, however the development window is where children are maximally receptive to forming certain characteristics
