All items will be properly booked packaged, and sealed before the end of shift. Only exceptions are the following:____(5)

All items deposited in the Evidence system must be recorded on the property report the only items which do not require a property report are the following:
Latent prints
Specialized forensic kits ( blood,urine,buccaneers swab, sexual assault,offender registrant DNA kits)
Property described as “miscellaneous” will/will not be accepted.

Ex: miscellaneous items, read only on the description of the property report.
All general property to include biological items may be a package together with the exceptions of:_____(3)
(1) Items stained with biological materials.
(2) All evidentiary hypodermic devices
(3) Confiscated license plates and drivers licenses (for return to DMV)
The following property will not be accepted by the Evidence Vault:____(5)
(1) Conveyances identified with a vehicle identification number.
(2) Consent to search cards.
(3) Food items.
(4) Fire works
(5) Hazardous chemicals. (30 mL or 1oz)
Evidence seals placed directly on packaging tape, not adhering to the actual package, is/is not accepted.
Factory sealed boxes that have not been opened before impounding does/does not need to have Evidence Seals placed on the seams if the box remains shut with the factory applied glue or Staples.

When impounding a bicycle, if no previous report is on file, advise the finder that they may/ may not retain the bicycle and if the true owner is identified, they will be notified. If the finder does not want to retain the bicycle impound it.

Items stained with biological materials must be packaged separately and not co-mingled with other categories of property and must not be placed in ______ bags.

(1) Currency which has biological material required for forensic analysis
(2) Hand writing on currency which will require forensic analysis
(3) Serial numbers on currency will be needed for investigation and successful prosecution.
Pills Drop Boxes:
It is the responsibility of ______designated officers at each drop location to collect an impound the contents of the drop box according to policy. The ____ impounding officers will be present when the contents of the boxes are collected sorted and packaged.
