What are bone landmarks
specific locations on bones at which major muscles, ligaments, or other connective tissue attach to bone
ex. scapula is the bone; supraspinous fossa is the landmark
What is the body
refers to the largest more prominent segment of bone
What is the condyle
refers to a large prominence which often provides structural support to the overlying cartilage
What is crest
a raised or prominent part of the edge of a bone
What is fossa
a shallow depression
What is process
a raised, sharp elevation of bone
What is epicondyle
a protuberance above or on the condyle of a long bone
What is a groove
a furrow in the bone surface which runs along the length of a vessel
What is trochanter
a large prominence on the side of the bone
What is tuberosity
a moderate prominence where muscles and connective tissues attach
What is tubercle
a small, rounded prominence where connective tissues attach
