What do you do if a bomb is found?
Do not use mobile phones or radios within 25 metres or transmit on radios.
Inform supervisor or VKG ASAP
Evacuate 100 metres for suspected IED / 500 metres if Vehicle IED

When do you use the H.O.T Principal?
When assessing unattended property (suspected of being a bomb)
When looking for objects which is foreign to a given setting, unusual in appearance or hidden / questionable ownership.

HIDDEN - (does it seem like the item been deliberately hidden?
OBVIOUSLY SUSPICIOUS
TYPICAL - is it typical of the items found in that area
What do you do when you receive information of unattended property (suspected of being suspicious)?
Get the F.A.C.T.S
- FIND owner
- ASSESS property (H.O.T principal)
- CONSIDER THE SITUATION
What does A.L.E.R.T.S stand for?
ALERT
> LEVEL
> ELEVATED
RECEIPT of THREAT
SENSITIVE location
What would you consider doing if an unattended item is found not to be dangerous?
- Consider whether it was a possible reconnaissance exercise
- Create intel report
- Follow lost property procedures
