Function of cappillaries
Connect arteries to veins, allowing the exchange of oxygen, nutrients & waste products.

Carry oxygen-poor blood from the bodys tissue back to the heart.
Function of arteries
Carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart to tissues around body
Function of heart
Pumps oxygen-poor blood to the lungs for oxygenation, then pumps it around the body.
Blood carries

Draws air into the lungs and forces waste out

Extracts oxygen and allows it to pass into bloodstream

When food is broken down physically into smaller peices
Chemcial digestion
Complex foods are broken down into simpler chemicals
What does the pancreas do
Produces pancreatic juices which break down carbohydrates, protiens and fats
What does the liver do
Produces bile which is responsible for the mechanical digestion of fats.
What do the large intestines do
Allows water and other nutrients to be reabsorbed into the body
