16
Q

Pericardial Cavity

A

Contains the heart and is medial to the pleural cavities, the middle or inner part of a structure or body part

17
Q

Mediastinum Cavity

A

Contains the esophagus, trachea, thymus, gland, aorta and inferior vena cave (A large vein that carries blood to the heart from other areas of the body)

18
Q

Ventral membrane

A

These membranes line the coelomic (The coelom is located between the body wall and the digestive tract.)
cavities of the body, and they cover the organs located within those cavities. They are essentially membranous bags, with mesothelium lining the inside and connective tissue on the outside.

19
Q

Abdominal cavity

A

consists of the stomach, duodenum (first part), jejunum, ileum, liver, gallbladder, the tail of the pancreas, small intestine and colon. This cavity is bound by the diaphragm, the body wall, and the pelvic cavity.

20
Q

Pelvic cavity

A

Holds the urinary bladder, ureters, urethra, lower part of the large intestine and small intestine. It also houses the female reproductive organs and some male organs. This cavity is inferior to the abdominal cavity.

21
Q

Right upper quadrant RUQ

A

Contains a majority of the liver, gallbladder, portion of pancreas, right kidney, plus portion of small intestines and colon.

22
Q

Left upper quadrant LUQ

A

Contains a portion of the liver, stomach, spleen, majority of the pancreas, left kidney and portion of small intestines and colon.

23
Q

Right lower quadrant RLQ

A

Contains half of the small intestines and colon, right ovary and fallopian, appendix and the right ureter.

24
Q

Left lower quadrant LLQ

A

Contains half the small intestines and colon, left ovary and fallopian tube and left ureter.

25
Q
