Body Image And Bullying Flashcards
What is mental health?
Mental health refers to one’s state of wellbeing. It affects the way we think, feel and act, as well as how stress is handled and choices are made.
How can social media impact our health?
Social media can impact health by creating a lack of sleep as people overuse and abuse it, as well as allowing cyber bullying. It also feeds depression, anxiety and loneliness, restricting people addicted to social media from seeking the exercise and social time they need.
How does body image affect health?
Body image is the way you see your body, and having a negative body image can often lead to psychological distress and a risk of adopting unhealthy eating disorders. This can lead to a poor emotional health, feeling constantly worried and self-conscious of the body, feeling upset and comparing yourself to others.
How do you report online bullying?
You can report online bullying to a trusted adult, such as a teacher, parent or carer. You could also report this to a website such as Kids Helpline, eSafety or StopBullying.
