  • Lower lip parasthesia (due to imvolvent of INF Alv Nerve)

See… When BODY of mandible is fractured in the region DISTAL to MENTAL Foramen…. Inf Alv Nerve gets injured (as it enters into the mental foramen…)…. Leading to paraesthesia if anaesthesia in the distribution region of this nerve… (LOWER lip n CHIN)

A

Intermaxillary fixation

(Dental wiring such as above.. used when FULL or almost full complement of teeth Present)

When insufficient no. of teeth present….. ———-+ ARCH BARS ..

A

Interdental wiring..
Over A. Krischner wire
B. Circumferential wiring
C. External pin fixation

again since FULL Complement of teeth… ———+ Interdental eyelet wiring

Body… Undisplaced/minimally displaced…Miniplates to be placed where?

A

At the SUPERIOR border…

Given that the # is not comminuted.. Miniplates can be used in BODY #…

( The functional force acting in this area dictate that the miniplates be placed at the Sup border )
