Flexography uses
Flexible packaging and labels. Utilises variety of substances including film, paper, foil and non-woven.
Offset lithography
Only done on a flat surface.
Transferred to a rubber blanket through multiple ink rolls.
Image isn’t printed directly onto the substrate from the plate.
Cost effective for longer production.
Offset lithography uses
Used for foil stamping, spot gloss, embossing and other embellishments. These options come at a higher cost.
Gravure
Uses a copper plate for printing.
High set up costs.
Prints only onto rolls of paper.
Image or text that is intended for printing is typically laser etched onto a plate.
Limited number of inks compatible.
