Responsible for monitoring electrical plant for forward or aft bus
Throttle man
Top machinist mate watch in space. Responsible for answering ordered speed changes from the bridge and EOOW
Boiler Technician Upper Level/Distilling Plant Operator
Responsible for force draft blowers, main feed pumps, duct, distilling plant, and boiler
Machinist Mate Upper Level
Responsible for ship service turbine generators and main engine, conducts SICLOS on ship service turbine generators
Boiler Technician Lower Level
Responsible for main feed booster pumps, EFTP, and fuel system to boiler
Machinist Mate Lower Level
Responsible for main condenser, MCP, ships service turbine generator auxiliaries, aligns lube oil purifier and conducts SICLOS on main engine
Burner man
Responsible for lighting and extinguishing burners also makes up and breaks down burner barrels during midnight evolutions
Messenger
Responsible for taking reading on main engine and line shaft bearings
Jacking over main engine/ reduction gear
Keep the shaft from warping. Shaft rotated at 7 Revolutions per hour
SICLOS
Shift inspect clean lube oil strainer

Purposes for LP Air
1- Electronic dry air is used for wave guides and computer cooling on the 02 level and above
2- Vital air is used for boiler controls and forced draft blowers. Also aides in A/C plants in actuating capacity control systems
3- Non Viral air is used for non vital equipment such as pneumatic tubes and hand chippers and sanders, Ships laundry

6 ACs York 300 ton centrifugal type using R-236fa Freon 1,2 FWD diesel 3,4 AMR 5,6 under port ace
Refrigeration Plants
3 reefers on board 6 decks below post office.
Carrier 5.5 ton reciprocating type using R-134 Freon

Fuel Oil Quality Management Program
Procedures for receipt and transfer of fuel. Stripping and inspection of tanks, safety precautions, lab analysis of fuel samples, and accountability logs
Lube Oil Management Program
Provide requirements and procedures for monitoring and analysis of the quality of lubricating and hydraulic oils used in machinery aboard ships and service craft
Lube Oil Samples are Taken When
1- MLOCS 2- Daily when operating 3- Upon receipt 4- Upon transfer 5- After a causality 6- Purifier Emergency( 30 minute start, every 4 hours after start)
One a Lube Oil Sample is Taken
Inspected by space supervisor/EOOW
