Blood Replacement Flashcards
Antigens
Unique markers identifying cells (“flags”, who they are)
Antibodies
Produced by immune system once exposed to an antigen (“very skilled soldiers”, protect against specific group)
Agglutination
Large grouping of cells; can cause blood clots
Blood Types

Reactions: Circulatory Overload
More blood than the heart can handle
Symptoms:
Distended neck veins
Fluid volume overload
Reactions: Sepsis
The body responds to an infection causing inflammation throughout the body Caused by contaminated blood Symptoms: VERY high fever Vomiting Diarrhea
