How to give blood

A

Moniter/determine labs
Verify order/consent with second RN
Assess risk for fl overload
Vitals before, 15 min, hourly, end
Insert 20 guage or larger IV
Use filtered tubing
Hang with 0.9% sodium chloride(change after 2 units)
transfuse for max 4 hrs
No other meds
