Mission commander (MC)
Directs a coordinated plan of action and shall be responsible for the effectiveness of the flight

Tactical coordinator (TACCO or TC)
Employ tactics/procedures to most effectively carry out the mission. Initiates/coordinates plan of action for all tactical crewmembers.

Acoustics air warfare operator (AAW)
Detect, classify, and report contact data. When required, the AAW shall ensure audio info is recorded on media for mission reconstruction.

Support mission by utilizing radar, IFFI, ESM, and EO/IR systems as directed by the TACCO to detect/analyze targets.

Patrol plane commander (PPC)
Responsible for the safety, accurate navigation and orderly conduct of the flight

Patrol plane pilot (2P)
NATOPS qualified pilot that ensures the safe conduct of the flight and notify the PPC immediately of any unusual circumstances.

Patrol plane copilot (3P)
Performs those duties of the pilot, copilot, pilot flying, pilot monitoring, augment pilot, and observer.

-Reading and verifying correct execution of checklists
-Performing radio and interphone communications
-Coordinating mission crew activities with the TACCO
-Completing tasks as directed by the PF
-Monitoring taxiing, flight path, airspeed, aircraft configuration and navigation

Augment pilot (AP)
Performs duties specifically on the flight deck or in direct support of the PF and PM.

Observer (OB)
Responsible for preflight duties or ‘safety of flight’ mission systems, in-flight emergency procedures, and assisting in post-flight duties.
