Describe the features of hereditary hemorrhagic teleangiectasia.
A
autosomal dominant bleeding disorder, multiple dilated capillaries of skin and mucous membranes, lesions blanch with pressure, arteriovenous fistulas of the lung, liver and brain- risk of abscesses, bleeding from mouth, dental work needs to be atrumatic, antibiotic prophylaxis may be indicated with AV fistulas

What effects does liver disease have on bleeding?
A
diminished absorption of fat soluble vitamins (ADEK) and vitamin K is needed for production of some coagulation factors, the liver also produces all coagulation factors except VIII and possibly XIII
