What are the management options for Bipolar disorder? (6 things)
- Atypical antipsychotics (Olanzapine / Haloperidol) (for Mania)
- Mood stabilisers (Lithium / Sodium Valproate)
- Antidepressants (Fluoxetine SSRI)
- CBT
- ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy)
- Address co-morbidities (2-3x increased risk of DM, CVS, COPD)
What is a Side Fx of Sodium Valproate (used as a Mood Stabiliser in Bipolar)?
Foetal spina bifida

Nausea + vomiting
