Biosphere, biome, ecosystem, community, population, individual
Polar
Cold temperatures year-around with little precipitation; permafrost year round
Trop Rainforest
Forest with high temperatures and high amounts of rainfall
Tundra
Treeless plains with cold temperatures; mostly Northern Hemi; permafrost with summer thaw
Grassland
Enough precipitation to support grasses but not trees
Taiga
Forest with evergreen trees; very cold winters and warm summers; thick fertile soil
Desert
Arid with extreme temperature differences between day and night; salty infertile soil
Deciduous
Forest with leaves that fall in autumn; cool winter and warm summers; thick fertile soil
Mutualism
Both benefit
Commensalism
One benefits the other is unharmed and doesn’t benefit
Parasitism
One is harmed one benefits
An organisms niche includes
where is lives and what it eats
Limiting factors
anything that limits pop growth
Density dependent
Increasing effect on population as population grows; disease, predator
Density independent
Same effect on population no matter size; natural disasters
