Q

What are terminal buttons?

A

The terminal buttons contain synaptic vesicles that house neurotransmitters, the chemical messengers of the nervous system.

They communicate with the next neuron in the chain across a gap called as the synapse.

16
Q

What happens to the charge of a neuron when activated by a stimulus?

A

Inside of cell becomes positively charged for a split second causing action potential to occur - an electrical impulse travels down the axon to the end of the neuron.

17
Q

Neurons vary in size from a millimeter to a meter long. True or false?

A

True
