Tropical Rainforest
a tropical woodland with an annual rainfall of at least 100 inches
Temperate Rainforest
woodland of a usually rather mild climatic area within the temperate zone that receives heavy rainfall
Temperate Deciduous Forest
dominated by trees that lose their leaves each year
Taiga
the coniferous evergreen forests of subarctic lands
Savanna
grassland region with scattered trees
Temperate Grassland
grassland region without trees
Chaparral
vegetation such as tangled shrubs and thorny bushes
Desert
low precipitation area with little to no vegetation
Tundra
a vast, flat, treeless Arctic region in which the subsoil is permanently frozen
Lakes and Ponds
water in which plants can or cannot live depending on the depth of the water
Marsh and Swamps
plants make up an area covered in water while marsh has no woody plants
Rivers
a large natural stream of water flowing
Estuaries
the tidal mouth of a large river
Coral Reefs
reef containing mainly coral and limestone
Open Ocean
main body of sea or ocean that in not enclosed
