Force Formula
Mass multiplied by acceleration
Friction definition
an action of one surface/object rubbing against another e.g braking on a car. It is a contact force.
Electrostatic definition
a force with an attractive and repulsive force between particles caused by electric charge. It is a non-contact force.
Magnetism definition
a force that is applied by magnets when they attract or repel each other e.g north side of a magnet meets the south side of another magnet (repel). It is non-contact.
Gravity definition
the universal force of attraction acting between all matter e.g it pulls people down to earth. It is non-contact.
Buoyancy definition
the ability to float something in the water e.g floaties in the pool. It is a contact force.
Surface tension definition
The property of the surface of a liquid that allows it to resist an external force. It is a contact force

Newtons
What are balanced forces?
there is no change in speed or direction.
What are unbalanced forces?
the force applied in one direction is greater than the force applied in the opposite direction
What are forces always in?
pairs, size and length of the arrow shows the size of the force.
