Biomechanics Flashcards
Draw and label an example of a second class lever. Give a sporting example of it in action.
Movement in which plane of motion is being demonstrated here?
How does friction help to improve performance in a sport?
Friction is a gripping force beneficial to athletic movements. eg running on a modern athletics track in running spikes will allow an athlete to maximise the force transfer from the muscles into speed, when compared to running on wet grass in runners.
Movement in which Plane of motion is being demonstrated here?
What is mechanical advantage?
What is Inertia?
Name and explain Newton’s Third law.
Draw and label an example of a third class lever. Give a sporting example of it in action.
Describe movement around the vertical axis.
Describe movement around the frontal axis.
Name and explain Newton’s Second law.
What is mechanical disadvantage?
Which Plane of movement is being demonstrated here?
What is the relationship between the three planes and axes?
Frontal plane rotates around the saggital axis.
Saggital plane rotates around the frontal axis.
Transverse plane rotates around the vertical axis.
Draw and label an example of a first class lever. Give a sporting example of it in action.
