17
Q

Do large or small proteins travel farther in SDS page?

A

small

18
Q

How does acetylation affect DNA transcription?

A

It increases it DNA is - charge (phosphate backbone) and histones with Lys and Arg are + charged causing tight interactions When the aa residues are acetylated, it neutralizes the + charge and decreases interaction with DNA. This loosens the structure allowing for transcription

19
Q

At physiological pH, what is the charge on the N and C terminus respectively?

A

positive, negative

20
Q

What do nociceptors detect?

A

pain

21
Q

What do mechanoreceptors detect?

A

hearing and touch

22
Q

What do proprioreceptors detect?

A

position of body / kinesthetic sense
