What is food?
Food is needed for growth, energy, repair and to prevent diseases [gerp]
To test food for starch [experiment]
1- Add a few drops of Iodine solution to some food [potatoes, bread, water]
2- Observe any changes in colour
Result- Iodine runs black in the presence of starch [bread, potatoes]
Iodine does not turn black in water
Conclusion - iodine is the test for starch
