Biology- Coordination Flashcards
Cornea
protects and allows light to enter the eye
Iris
Controls quantity of light netting the eye
Pupil
Allows light to enter through eye
Lens
Focuses light on the retina
Retina
Light sensitive layer.light converted into nerve impulses
Fovea
Depression in retina where vision is most accurate
Blind spot
Where optic nerve enters eye. No light receptors
Optic nerve
Caries nerve impulses from retina to brain
The Central Nervous System (CNS)
What does it do,and what is it made up of?
Collects information from the senses and send it to the brain
The brain and spinal cord
Name all. The ear parts
Ear drum, middle ear bones(hammer, anvil, stirrup),cochlea, auditory nerve and semi circular canals
Is judgement of sound better with one ear or two?
Two
What is the nervous system composed of?
The brain,spinal cord and nerves
What do nerves do?
They carry info from the senses to the CNS and from the CNS to the muscles
What does the CNS do?
Sorts out info from the senses and sends messages to the muscles which make the right response
