What is mitosis?
when the nucleus divides into 2, this creates 2 new identical cells.
What is diffusion?
The movement of particles from a high concentration to a low concentration, down a concentration gradient, until equilibrium is met.
What is active transport?
the movement of particles from a low concentration to a high concentration, AGAINST a concentration gradient.
What is osmosis?
movement from water particles from a dilute solution to a more concentrated solution through a partial permeable membrane.
What is an independent variable?
change.
What is a control variable?
keep the same.
what is a dependant variable?
measure.
What is percentage change?
percentage change= differance divided by inital x 100
List 3 differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells?
Prokaryotic cells have free floating DNA, no nucleus and flagellum.
