Biological approach Flashcards

1
Q

What are the main assumptions of the Biological approach?

A

Human behaviour is made up of our genetic makeup, an understanding of brain structures can explain behaviour, and humans have biologically evolved but still share common features with animals.

Q

What was Buss’ study?

A

Buss studied 37 different cultures and found universal similarities in human mate choice. Women wanted mates who could provide for their offspring. Men wanted mates that were young and attractive which is an indication of fertility and reproductive value.
