Why was the Bill of Rights added to the constitution?
to guarantee the rights of the individuals
What was the first amendment?
You have the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press (writing), and the right to petition the government.
What is the second amendment?
You can own a gun when you are eighteen years old.
What is the third amendment?
No soldier in a time of war can live in your house.
What is the fourth amendment? What is the probable cause?
Police have to have a search warrant in order to search your belongings. Probable cause is when you have a reason to search someone’s belongings.
What is the fifth amendment?
You do not have to answer a court question that could make you look guilty.
What is the sixth amendment?
You have the right to a speedy trial, a public trial, and to an attorney.
What is Seventh Amendment?
Cases having to deal with $20,000 or more, can be preserved for later.
What is the eighth amendment?
Excessive bail shall not be allowed.
What is the ninth amendment?
African Americans, Native Americans, and women can be recognized.
What is the tenth amendment?
If something is not mentioned in the constitution, then it is the state’s decision on what to do with it.
