A sacred text in Christianity. Made up of 2 books - the Old Testament (stories before Jesus) and New Testament (stories of Jesus’ ministry / teachings.)

What is the Bible to Christians?

A

It is the Word of God. The writers who wrote it were divinely inspired by God - it therefore allows us to really understand God and his message.

The Bible is a form of ‘revelation’ - what does this mean?

A

It means it describes all of the ways in which God makes himself known to human beings.

Why is the Bible a form of divine revelation?

A

…because we are only human beings we can not discover God through natural means. The Bible is divine knowledge from God himself.

How is divine revelation different from natural revelation?

A

The Bible is divine knowledge from God. Natural revelation is knowledge about God we can discover for ourselves e.g. knowing that God is great by looking at the world he created.
