In 1948 they did stage 3: which was when a single currency created in Trizonia. - economic unity.
why did stalling oppose this new currency
It was seen as a real threat.
West Berlin was so much better because the western forces had invested a lot to rebuild it compared to the east.

It last for 11 months
They couldn’t get anything anything apart form air
Pilots took enormous risk as they could be shot down
The people of west Berlin and western troops joined together to create a new airport at Tegel.
The airlift cost 100million and 79 servicemen died in accidents
At its peak, 1 plane landed every 3minutes and you have 7 minutes to unload
The people in west berlin only had four hours of electricity a day
