Creative relations theory
- Creative relationship therapy is an approach to thinking about and working with the concerns people bring, which harnesses and combines family and art psychotherapy.
creative relations theory
It draws on theories, concepts and practices from both psychotherapies, in an effort to better match the resources, needs and aspirations of the people seen, to help improve outcomes. It may be of particular use to those clients who find more traditional uni-disciplinary approaches, those using a number of treatments offered sequentially or in parallel, of limited use.
creative relations theory
- A child/family friendly approach lies at its centre and encourages different levels of communication to occur at the same time, within a safe and containing context.
creative relations theory
Often self-directed, this approach paradoxically can often get straight to a therapeutic point quicker than treatments based on a more verbal format.
creative relations theory
The approach can help children and young people who have witnessed domestic violence when very young and pre-verbal, to express, make sense of and have contained what may have happened to them, even where this might be stored memory of vague sensations.
