Q

Costuming 1, elements and choreographic devices

A

Simple, androgynous -> varied slightly with colours - enables dancers to initiate movement more effectively in order to enable viewers to gage further understanding with the social issue
Representative of individuality amongst a converging society
Lauren is seen is a bold coloured shirt compared to the rest of the group, evidentially ostracised
She tries to gain unison with the group - they use percussive and sustained movement to isolate themselves from her making her feel distressed and unaccepted - spatially isolating themselves from her - pack mentality against one girl
Abstract representation of youth society and how people are unfairly isolated in different environments

The scorecard can be representative of how judgemental society can be and making people feel as though a number makes them a good candidate of society
Dancers groping their physical attributes showing Laura “what she doesn’t have” making her feel imperfect and think differently of her appearance..
